Description:
The program is a two year accredited course for adults who wish to pursue the full advanced training necessary to become a circus artists or trainer in Kenya. This is a fast growing industry in Kenya and is opening up many opportunities and works are available for professionally trained people. In order to achieve this goal, students must commit to an intensive preparatory training. MJCA has successfully trained adults to enter professional circus in Europe since 1997.
The program consists of:
- Dance
- Physical Theatre
- Physical training
- Acrobatics (group and individual)
- Balancing
- Chinese pole(African style)Choreography
- Management, staging and work promotion
The candidate:
- Demonstrates proficiency in circus arts, dance or acrobatic sport with an artistic component
- Has developed physical and shows coordination, flexibility and body awareness and is in excellent health.
- Is available mornings during the week and on Saturday mornings for the group gymnastics training
- Demonstrates determination, discipline and creativity
Students train 57 hours per week divided into 7 sessions held on Monday to Saturday in the morning 5a.m to 1p.m then 3p.m to 5p.m and Saturday mornings from 9a.m to 12p.m group gymnastics.
